How to do your first booking

Create a booking on Otto for an individual, organization, or a sub-hire car rental company

This guide walks you through how to create a booking on Otto — whether for an individual customer, an organization, or a sub-hire car rental partner company

⚠️ Before You Start

Before creating a booking, make sure you’ve already added:

  • A vehicle in the Fleet section
  • A customer (individual or organization) in the Customers section
  • A partner in the Partners section (for sub-hire bookings)

You’ll find all of these inside the More tab.

📍 Step-by-Step Instructions

📍Step 2: Go to Bookings ➔ Tap “New Booking”

  • From the bottom navigation, tap Bookings
  • Tap New Booking in the top-right corner

📍Step 3: Select a Customer or Partner

  • Under Client, select the customer (individual or organization)
  • If it’s a sub-hire booking, toggle Sub Hire ON and choose a partner from your Partner list
  • You can also Copy Customer Onboarding Link if you still need to add them

📍Step 4: Choose the Rental Period

  • Tap the calendar icon and choose the pickup and drop-off dates and times

📍Step 5: Assign a Vehicle

  • Tap to Select Available Vehicle
  • Use the Search Button to Quickly Find the car in your Fleet
  • If you don’t see the vehicle, make sure it’s been added to Fleet and marked as available

📍Step 6: Choose Rental Type

  • Select either:
    • Self Drive
    • With Driver
      • For with Driver be sure to indicate the number of days in City and Out of City

📍Step 7: Set Pickup and Drop-off Locations

  • Choose where the trip starts and ends
  • Use the “Same as Pickup” checkbox if both are the same

📍Step 8: Add Area of Use

Add a short note about where the vehicle will be used — this helps with planning and verification.

📍Step 9: Tap “Create Booking”

  • Once everything is filled in, tap Create Booking to finish setup
  • If any field is not done check the error message in red at the top to see what may be missing

  • ✅ Ensure vehicle, customer, and partner (if needed) are already created in More
  • ✅ Go to Bookings ➔ Tap New Booking
  • ✅ Select a customer or sub-hire partner
  • ✅ Fill in rental period, car, rental type, pickup/drop-off, and area of use
  • ✅ Tap Create Booking to confirm
