How to Cancel a Booking and Request a Refund (Individuals)

Learn how to cancel your Otto booking and understand when you may qualify for a refund.

Plans change — Otto makes it simple to cancel your booking and request a refund where applicable. Here's how the process works.

 

📍 Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1: Sign in to Your Otto Account

Open the Otto app and log in using the email or phone number you used to book.

Step 2: Enter the OTP Code

After entering your contact info, you’ll receive a One-Time Password (OTP). Type it in to continue.

Step 3: Tap “My Trips”

Once logged in, tap on “My Trips” to view all your current and past bookings.

Step 4: Select the Booking You Want to Cancel

After successful cancellation, you’ll receive a notification confirming that your booking has been cancelled.

This message includes your booking details and serves as a cancellation receipt.

Tip: You can always find your cancelled bookings under the “My Bookings” section if you need to refer back.

Step 5: Tap “Cancel Trip”

Scroll down and tap the “Cancel Trip” button.

Step 6: Enter Your Cancellation Reason & Confirm

You’ll be asked to provide a short reason for cancellation. Fill this in, then tap “Confirm” to finalize your request.

Tip: Giving a clear reason helps speed up approval from the rental partner.

Step 7: Receive Cancellation Notification

Once done, you'll see a confirmation message showing that your trip has been cancelled successfully.

🚧 Important Refund Notes

  • Before Pickup Time: You may be eligible for a full or partial refund depending on the rental partner’s policy.
  • After Pickup Time: Refunds are typically not issued if the pickup time has already passed.
  • Special Cases: Some premium or last-minute rentals may have stricter, non-refundable terms.
